Taken at Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz California, this famous otter is known as Otter 841, and loves to eat and lay on softtop surfboards. I had the honor of photographing her while I was shooting images of the Santa Cruz Longboard Memorial Invitational surf competition in 2024. She jumped onto one of the water safety volunteers boards. The backdrop of the Santa Cruz boardwalk and cliffside is her iconic playground and home.
